ICE has announced sentencing in two cases related to visa fraud. Houston immigration lawyer Kenneth Rothey has been sentenced to fourteen months in prison for money laundering and visa fraud. Rothey was convicted for his role in securing L-1 visas based on manufactured corporate relationships. ICE also announced the sentencing of Kwan Tsoi to nineteen months in prison for her role in arranging fraudulent marriages and then submitting immigration applications based on the marriages.

Since H1 is for 6 years, you can extend for another year without filing I-140. You can apply for renewal within 180 days before expiry.

My wife filed I-539 for changing status from H-4 to F-1 at end of May. We have the receipt and the case is now pending. Is it possible for her to request cancellation of this change of status and continue in H-4 status? If so, does anyone know how to ask USCIS for this?

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

I am right now on L1A visa recently filed for extension and still in processing.
I am planning to get married to my girlfriend here and apply for greencard.

Should be pretty straight forward. Ask her to take the signed I-20, financial support docs, letter from the department, and also from advisor (if possible). Though in our case, the VO didnt ask for a single doc but its good to have them all.

We also need to raise our voice for the Out of Status stuff.
Most of the consultants have one or more pay stub missing etc. There needs to be a amendment that more than 6 months so called out of status can also adjust their status by paying some fine or something because
