Relax! Wait for couple of days. Sometimes it takes time to get updated. If you don't see anything in couple of days, call USCIS customer service.

Hi Everyone,
The A# that is listed on my I-485 receipt notice is different from the one listed on my approved I-140. In addition, the number listed on my I-485 receipt notice has only 8 digits instead of 9. From reading various forums, I've heard both sides of the story...some are saying that something like this needs to be corrected, and some others are saying that the A# is just a file number, and eventually gets consolidated.
I called USCIS customer service, but they weren't much help as they couldn't pull up the information in their system.
Any inputs? I'm planning on inquiring about this when I go for fingerprinting. Also curious to know if anyone's A# on their approved I-140 has nine digits, and if the one on the I-485 receipt notice only has 8 digits.
Thanks.

Hello Michigan IV Members,
I would like to request all IV members living in Michigan to please respond to this thread. We would like to make the MI chapter much more active in our mission to solve many of the problems we face as legal immigrants. I think as a cohesive group, we'll be able to make a greater impact. So pls join me, Samrat, Jagan, Shailendra, Puneet, Amit, and many other active members in MI to make it happen. We have an exciting event planned for August 09 to which I would like all to participate, and make your voice be heard. Pls feel free to email me at: arenji@yahoo.com
Thanks.

Why should we join the cause and raise our collective voice?
"Squeaky wheel gets the grease."
"Crying baby gets milk first." (probably not from English..but heard from a friend)
Why should we _do anything more than writing on forums?
"Actions Speak Louder Than Words"
"All Bark And No Bite"
(hahaha.. that's what i am doing right now)
Why should we stop infighting?
"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand."
"All In The Same Boat" (more or less)
What do you think?

*Interviewer asking about Timezones and its effect on Google*
Why do it, given the downside?
Well, because we want the best talent all around the world. There's an enormous amount of programming talent in China, we want that talent to work at Google. And the fact is they want to work in China, they actually like China, it's their home, or the U.S. won't allow them in. So we have to adapt, just to be very clear here, we have to adapt the culture that I'm describing with this international development focus.

Congress may vote on the DREAM Act as early as this week. Unless the DREAM Act passes in lame duck session, it is unlikely that the new conservative Congress will pass this important piece of legislation into law during the next two years. All around the country, something incredible is happening. Student leaders across the U.S. are coming out and declaring that they are present in the U.S. without papers. This, of course, could lead to their being arrested and deported, and yet, they continue to do so in ever greater numbers. Consider David Cho, a 21-year-old senior at my...

I had an H1 for about 3 years (2 different employers), and then was hired by an international organization. I gave up the H1 and got a G4 visa, which I still have. Over the last 3 years with a G4, my credentials have changed, and am due to get my masters degree in May 2008. If I were to move to a job requiring H1 when I get my masters, will the total number of years allowed for me to hold an H1 roll back to 6 years? I'm thinking that since the skills I had as an H1B visa holder before have changed now.
Any info would be appreciated! Thanks.

All,
My lawyer received an RFE on my EB3/RIR labor cert on priority date 01/26/04In Feb sometime and responded back exactly on the last day (03/01/07) it was due. I have not heard anything back from DBEC since then. Anyone here have any idea how much time they take to approve the labor after RFE is responded back, if at all they do approve it? I know couple of my friends in CA who got their labor approved within a month after their RFE was responded back. My labor was filed from WI.
Please post your experiences if anyone experienced this before. The RFE was about company's financial document. I am not worried about the financial status of the company as it is doing pretty good from last 3-4 years consistently.
any info on this issue will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Saw in a IV post (looking for the link) that an NSC IO told that they will adjudicate applications with Name Check pending only if they dont hear back from FBI by November,08. Below link may offer some clues on why "November".
http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/NameCheck_2Apr08.pdf
Not to read too much in to what one IO might have said...but Wanted to see if there is any truth to this as I remember seeing folks approved with Namecheck pending on some forums. So pl. post here if you fit in to the above category.
God only knows what is in stock for November visa dates.
EB2, Sep 04
NC: Pending (Per Infopass on 8/5)

Ed Schultz thinks the Arizona bill has forced the White House to deal with immigration reform sooner than they otherwise might have. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy The Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police issue a statement opposing the bill (somehow I doubt Sheriff Joe approved). America's Voice delivers a petition with 50,000 signatures urging Governor Brewer to veto the bill. NAFSA: The Association for International Education is concerned about the impact the bill will have on our ability to attract the best foreign students. The American Immigration Council warns Governor Brewer that...

Your wait really starts when you gets your I140 approved. After that you can do all is to wait for 8/9/10/11 dates every month to watch the visa bulletins [:(]
