Yeah I am EB3 India June 2003 too. Not sure when our turn will come, IF at all the way things are crawling here. Sometimes I really feel there is no justice to some of the IV members on here. I wonder which is worse, the corruption in India or the bureaucracy in the USA. Atleast in India, if I would have bribed the official, I would have had the documents by now.
eb3_nepa!
People here think EB3 deserves to be waiting (in the given scenario and only EB2 move forward). After all we are not EB2!
2003? another 2-3 years easily. I am only 2005. So may be another 5 years for me. Well, what the heck

I read this in another thread... May be USCIS wants to collect more money for EAD renewals by moving eb2 date and issuing 1yr approval.
===========================
Will applicants get a two-year EAD when they file an I-765 with their I-485 adjustment of status application?
Generally no. Initial EAD filings will generally receive an EAD that is valid for one- year because they are usually submitted with the Form I-485 that can only be filed when there is an immigrant visa number immediately available to the individual. Applicants are only eligible for a two-year EAD if their immigrant visa availability date retrogresses (i.e., when actual demand for visa numbers exceeds forecasted supply) after the Form I-485 is filed. If an immigrant visa number is available, USCIS will grant the one-year EAD.
How will USCIS decide whether to issue an EAD valid for one or two years?
USCIS will decide whether to renew an EAD for either a one or two-year validity period based on the most recent Department of State Visa Bulletin. If an applicants visa number has retrogressed and is unavailable, USCIS may issue a renewal EAD valid for two years. USCIS will continue to issue the EAD in one-year increments when the Department of State Visa Bulletin shows an employment-based preference category is current as a whole or the applicants priority date is current.

Man, in frustration people do not even know what to say and what not! Be very careful of what you spin and what you say. From the looks of it, this stuff has every chance of spinning out of control and it may have already started the ball rolling.Think about it for a second!. Once it goes that way, trust me, we will all live to regret that.
Yes, DHS approved upwards of 25000 GCs over the weekend, leading up to July 2nd. And some people are pissed off at that, err..why?
Remember, those 25000 are one of us. Once, they too were in line for Labor certifications, I-140s, medical exams and all that crap. And some of them were in the so called "FBI Name check" black-hole for an extended period of time. We should be rejoicing in the fact that most of those backlogs got cleaned up. Instead we have people questioning the validity of those newly approved GCs.My dear friends, god willing, we will all have GCs one day and tell me, how would you feel if someone else comes screaming at you just because he did not get one too.
Putting a "security lapse" spin on this could be very dangerous and should be avoided at any cost. I hope one of those anti-immigrant lobbies do not pick it up and start running with that. I prey that they do not revoke those already approved GCs, because if they do, then those poor 25000 souls will go through much more agony than what we are going through now.
It's very tough to get the genie back in the bottle once it is out, so think before you start popping that cork.
~AMK
you are right.
therefore iv's stand on this has been very careful.
we are happy that uscis is showing great efficiency. the fact they screwed up with the original visa bulletin is a whole separate issue, the question is- why are we suffering for their mistake?
all iv memmbers are encouraged not to harp the security issue, it's not in our interest.

Good Morning people.
A new beginning today. We missed our target of 2000 yesterday. Today we have a new target.
$3000.00 by mindnight EST.
Will we make it or will we miss again?
Common IV'rs, this a chance at redemption. Let us show the anti-immigrants that we are UNITED.

You seem to have mixed "Orangutan"'s post with the original.

Not true my dear! News!! News !!
Once the window is open. They pre/adjudicate as per the Reciept Date. Also if all backgrounds checks are over...then among other attributes it falls within the "low hanging fruit" area for quick pre/adjudication.
See the Standard Operating Procedures link posted above for a clue. Also recently the NSC confirmed this. Will post the link as soon as I find it.

>> Although 30,000 people are IV members
Update:
18,344 members have zero post.
21,807 members have zero or 1 post.
27,370 members have zero to 10 posts.
That should give an idea how many members are really "active" on IV.
30000 - 27370 = 2630 (more than 10 posts)
At the end,
1. Let us assume 1500 people using it actively every week,
1500 * $25 = $37500 / month
1500 * $20 = $30000 / month
1500 * $15 = $22500 / month
1500 * $10 = $15000 / month
1500 * $5 = Why do you need GC? A McDonald's lunch cost > $5
2. Let us assume 1000 people using it actively every week,
1000 * $25 = $25000 / month
1000 * $20 = $20000 / month
1000 * $15 = $15000 / month
1000 * $10 = $10000 / month
1000 * $5 = Why do you need GC? A Subway lunch cost > $5
3. Let us assume 500 people using it actively every week,
500 * $25 = $12500 / month
500 * $20 = $10000 / month
500 * $15 = $ 7500 / month

can you please CLOSE this thread, please ?
1) It's annoying to see grown up ppl fight like children.
2) This forum needs to keep it's focus. Members are supposed to help each other and our cause. We are IV and IV is us.
3) we do not need internecine fights, that digress's from our mission.
4) This thread is contributing to wastage og volunteer resources, computer resources, temperments and increasing member frustations and BLOOD PRESSURE.
I humbly request you to put this to rest by closing this thread.
Amen.

But I think franklin posted earlier that she got her GC when the priority dates are not current. And shows about 5 EB3s from India got approvals during September whos PDs are on or after 2003.Do you think USCIS might have requested the visa number for their cases when their PD was current?
They can do "wild" approvals, however, they have to do it as per September visa bulletin. IF they dont have enough approvable 485s that are as per the Sept visa bulletin and if the approvable "ready to go" cases are past the priority dates of September bulletin, then they will be sitting unapproved as they CANT do any kind of "wild" approval.
Keeping all dates current in Sept (like july, but intentionally this time around) could have made is easier on USCIS to have more choice and easily find "ready to go" cases to assign and consume all visa numbers.

The senator is missing it or dodging it - it clearly means one thing -we are invisible as constituents. We are being taken for a ride only because we do not speak up or go meet our lawmakers. They do not see us as ordinary constituents having the same issues as their other constituents. The whole human -angle is missing.
We have to go meet our lawmakers and explain to them our part of the story/ They need to be told and made aware that we live in their constituencies and our grievances are genuine and need to be addressed.
And although this particular bill does not affect people that are here already.. Beware!! the noose is tightening- the next on the chopping block is EB Immigrants. To answer your question: Indian companies in India or Indian politicians complaining will not do much impact. After passing this bill politicians will cosy up and say good things to rebuild relations. The real impact can happen if Indians in New York state who can vote stand up against such laws. Same goes for the Desi companies who have tried to raise the voice against USCIS memo. They lack grassroots advocacy and support. Their Indian US citizen friends are busy organizing Diwali melas and Shahrukh Khan stage shows. Immigration voice can be extremely successful if politicians see us as an immigrant lobby. Just like they see Jewish lobby or Hispanic lobby. This is why participation of IV greencard members and citizen friends is important to advocate for changes that helps the immigrant community. I this case too, IV community should not turn a blind eye to what happens around us. Just because we do not work for such companies or we already have EAD does not mean we do not see beyond the headline of this issue. We spend more time analyzing , over analyzing, predicting and tracking rather than actively understanding the politics of issues that are causing all the problems we are facing. To some extent this law passed because Indians in USA did not care due to their narrow outlook and priorities in politics.

Of course the vote had to fail. Senate is Dem controlled and they are anti-legal presently. But the fact that it got voted down by a few votes should give us some optimism.

She recently announced in her campaign that she will increase the H1B visas
She also made a statement that she will try for more benefits for permanent residents.
She does not want to support only the people who are in the process of immigration???
Whats up with that.
May be she is afraid of Lou Dobbs...Recently he has been criticizing her for her Indian ties
or may be she is pro Rich Indian Americans ... this might sound ridiculous but her voting ney is crazy
They always comment about us stealing the middle class jobs...tell me one case where they don't prefer US citizen over immigrant.
I have been interviewing for couple of companies ...the first question they ask is ...Are you US citizen 2nd question r u Permanent resident ..no..
Then we are sorry.
Companies do not prefer US citizens over Immigrants...I don't know where this misconception comes in to play...
There was a guy in our office who used to complain about Chineese and Indians stealing jobs...Believe he is a big slacker ..he recently got fired...people like him form these programmers guilds.
We do not work for less and we are not paid less...may be they deduct our Gc expenses but not much
Why is there a misconception about us?
Lets get this thought out of these bone heads
We are not middle class job stealers...We are the building blocks of a strong middle class
proves that she is a double talker and just wants money. When the time comes to get in front of the Indian community she sweet talks about the values and hardworking nature of the community and swears to support the community and immigrants and takes in Huge contributions. Time to vote on major efforts that do help the community really and she votes 'no' obviously its her nature to double talk and some talk show hosts have rightly identified that and drill her on that. I think its time we showed to the clintons and all those who failed us this time that our community does count and we are going to make it felt.
